Day Drinkin'

Everything you need to know!

Thank you so much for choosing to stay at Day Drinkin for your vacation! We appreciate your patronage and want to make sure you have everything you need during your stay.

HOW DO I ENTER THE HOUSE?

There is an electronic lock on the front door, enter the code that was sent to you and turn the deadbolt. Your code will work for 15 minutes after check out time.

WHO MIGHT I SEE ON THIS PROPERTY DURING MY STAY?

The property managers may come by if there is an issue. The groundskeeper may show up as well to work on landscaping.

Western North Carolina is home to black bears. They are beautiful to watch, but should never be intentionally fed, and trash should always be secured during your stay.

WHAT DO I DO WITH THE TRASH?

There are trash cans located at the bottom of the stairs by the road inside of the wooden box. Please place ONLY bagged trash in the trash cans. NO LOOSE TRASH! Depending on the length of your stay, one of our property managers or trash collectors may come by to collect the trash.

CAN WE DRINK THE WATER?

Absolutely. The water is safe to drink!

WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE HOUSE?

At Day Drinkin, you will find a hot tub, fenced in backyard, electric fireplace, games, gas and charcoal grill, high speed internet and more! For your furry friends, look for the doggy station on the side porch.

IS THERE WIFI?

Yes! The router is located on the desk in the sitting room.

Network name: ARRIS-6CE5-5G

Password: mine.644.expand

HOT TUB

Before entering the hot tub all clips from all four sides must be disengaged. Lift the side next to the steps first, and then use the metal bar to lift the remaining side until it rests on the far side of the tub.  On the panel you can start the jets by pressing the “1” button once for low, and again for high.  You can also engage secondary jets by pressing the “2” button. Please close and engage all clips after use to prevent wind from opening.

Glass of any type is not permitted in the hottub area.  Users of the hottub assume all liability.  Please read the notice above the electrical box before use of the hot tub.

HOW DO I WORK THE T.V.?

There are two TV’s located in the living room and sitting room. Both are for streaming purposes only.

GRILLS

There are two grills on the side porch. One is a propane grill and the other is charcoal. Please provide your own charcoal.

HEAT AND A/C

Feel free to control the thermostats to your liking. Please return the temperature back to 68 upon checkout.

FIREPLACE

There is an electric fireplace in the living room. There is a remote control for the fireplace that is located on the side table next to the couch.

WHAT TO DO IN A POWER OUTAGE

Don’t panic! Duke Progress will get the power back on as soon as they can. There is a flashlight and extra batteries located in the upper cabinet to the right of the sink.

The house uses a well to provide water, which requires electricity for the pump to function. In the event of a power outage, there is water provided in the pantry.

WASHER/DRYER

The laundry room is located in the kitchen. We’ve left a few laundry pods above the washer in case you would like to wash a load while you are here.

WHAT IS AROUND THE HOUSE?

One of the most beautiful man-made lakes in the country, Lake Lure is nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Located about 27 miles from Asheville, Lake Lure sits in the Hickory Nut Gorge, surrounded by lush mountain tops and sheer granite cliffs. Look up to see the famous Chimney Rock. From the top of Chimney Rock, there are spectacular views of the lake and gorge. Make sure to visit the beach during your stay!

HIKING

Rumbling Bald Trail: Now part of the Chimney Rock State Park, this is a popular spot for rock climbing, bouldering and hiking. Hike the 1.5-mile loop by the boulders and cliffs.

Check out the website “AllTrails” (full link below) to see other hiking options in our area. This site allows you to see the length of trails, relative difficulty, estimated time, and feedback from other hikers.
