This bridge neighbors the Grandfather Mountain State Park that offers hiking trails, a nature museum, a wildlife habitat and a gift shop. There is a fee to enter the park, but the scenery and experience is well worth it according to locals.

The Linville Gorge is another attraction that you cannot miss! Also known as the “Grand Canyon of the East”, there are nearly 12,000 acres of exquisite scenery. At the beginning of the Gorge, you will find Linville Falls, a perfect place to capture Instagram worthy photos (and no filter needed!)
Linville Caverns was discovered by fisherman in the early 1800’s and is now the only accessible cavern in North Carolina. View stalactite and stalagmites, along with an underground stream where the fish are blind (it’s so dark, they couldn’t see anyway.) Guided tours are led throughout the year, with weekend-only tours in the winter months.

Less than 4 miles from Linville, discover the only star park in North Carolina - Dark Star, Appalachian State University’s Astronomy Park.
